The Quarterback competition continues in New York for the Jets. Mark Sanchez did not take full advantage of rookie Geno Smith’s twisted ankle last week and the coaching staff has not named a starter for this weekend’s preseason game against the NY Giants .
Believing that the Miami Dolphins are going to miss the pass catching ability of Dustin Keller this writer throws out the question: Should Jeff Ireland consider trading a defensive lineman for a tight end?

SUCK IT KNUCKLES
I just switched back to DirecTV...Comcast REALLY sucked. I got Sunday Ticket for free. I am getting so amped. The season can't start soon enogh!
@cgc5783 the smith "haymaker" wasnt clean by definition, but he clearly wasnt going for a headshot
binns tears acl in camp, cut him. keller tears acl in camp, IR him and blow an additional 2 mill. confusing imo. please note, both were on one year deals.
So... I got maybe 4 hours of sleep last night, due to back pain and general insomnia. But I don't think that excuses me missing a belt loop this morning. And I'm not talking about the small of the back belt loop, I missed the one closest to the zipper.
@scottmankins cknuckles hates Topps, not Wegmans.
was fred hit on a passing play? maybe a big difference. rules and such. still, dbs always go low on big runingbacks. I wouldn't consider that dirty.
@The Donkey sweet
directtv has really improved since when I had it back in the early 2000s thats for sure. everthing online. you can add and drop packages instantly.
@The Donkey Sweet. You get free pron too.
@The Donkey I agree... especially as good players start disappearing in meaningless games
@the hooded genius Donald Penn is having cold sweats thinking about Week 3.
@scottmankins @cgc5783 I really don't want to start this again, but he swung at him in a fit of rage (split second type stuff)... I doubt he was necessarily "aiming" for anything specific... the point is if Ingognito doesn't dodge and he gets hit in the skull or temple with a helmet being swung, full force, by a near 300lb man, he's in trouble... as such, the fine/suspension must be more substantial than anything related to the preseason.
@The Donkey mornin'
@finfan5357 I suppose it depends on the caliber of player. Keeping Keller means I can still play with him as an 87 rated TE on Madden, whereas Binns is like a 79 and wouldn't play/affect my gaming experience.
@finfan5357 Did they reach an injury settlement with Binns? Sometimes players want to be released from IR if they don't think they have an injury that will keep them out through December. The injury settlement allows them to sign with another team when they get healthy.
@finfan5357 I guess they want to extend Keller.
@mikesfriedrice Apparently their 2nd unit has been blowing
@iycedout17 Riley Cooper is pissed.
@iycedout17 We aren't talking about the Keller injury
Have you tried the Madden 25 demo? The option is cool and could be fun but don't get the point of the modifier button.
na binns tore the acl, that is absolutely the whole year?
here's some info i just found
Pruitt and Davis take the place of Armon Binns and Jasper Collins, who were both waived injured. It is likely that Binns, and maybe even Collins, ends up on the team's injured reserve. NFL players are waived injured, and if they clear waivers they can be placed on injured reserve.
However, the Dolphins could agree to an injury settlement and end their ties to the player.
Binns, who was firmly entrenched as the team's fourth best receiver, suffered a ACL and MCL tear earlier this week, and will face a 9-12 month rehabilitation. The injury to Collins, an undrafted rookie from Mt. Union College, is unknown.
**so apparently binns still could go on IR, just not that early in the year, so he had to be waived.
@iycedout17 Yeah, Cushing is a heart & sould type player. Gets the other guys fired up... And also probably has the best HGH hook up.
I agree in that DBs often go low on runningbacks and have always done so. but people don't think this is dirty because of the rule changes. I don't remember the fred thing.
@cgc5783 i dont know why you are implying that i eversaid it was clean in the first place.
@dudthestud66 No, I haven't. But I did take Tuesday and Wednesday off next week specifically for the release. How can I play the demo?
jives with what I knew.
the injured player always has to have at least the Option of rehabbing with team at their facilities with their doctors and on their dime and on salary until they are ready to play again - or until they settle.
