First Down Morning Links

Flying Tarantula

First Down Links are to some of the latest stories about our AFC East teams

“That’s probably the main reason why I want Dion Jordan back,”  Dolphins defensive lineman Jared Odrick said. “It’s to carry my pads after practice. Because I’m pretty tired after practice and he’s got his technique down. I think he puts two helmets on the left hand and one on the right.” …See what the coaching staff has to say about the possibilities that Jordan will be ready for Game 1

I apologize to the New England Patriots fans , but this question is on many peoples minds (including yours), will Tebow make the final cut. This Boston Herald article dives into the reasons why he has not earned a right to stay on the roster. If you just can’t stand to read another article about Tebow I have offered you an alternative, yes there are two links for the Patriots this morning and it’s not even Christmas.

The New York Jets coach has been reluctant to make a decision concerning the starting quarterback. Tyler Conway, Bleacher Report Columnist, shows no reluctance in this detailed article about the many challenges facing the Jets. Conway says “the only question is how much schadenfreude the media will indulge in along the way.” It’s a good read whether you agree with him or not.

As much as I wish we could move on, with the start of the season less than two weeks away, the fact that the Buffalo Bills are not sure who the starting quarterback will be, is this teams  top story. My biggest concern here is that the Bills will bring back Manuel too soon and end up losing him for the season. Being a little older, and obviously wiser than many of you,. :) .., I would make Tuel prove he is better than Leinart even if we had to draw the plays up in the sand on the sidelines. Marrone tells us, in this article, what he will be looking for from Manuel before making his decision.

By the way I would have normally cropped the photo above and zoomed in a little to enhance the enjoyment of the readers, but the faces of the two guys at the bottom begged to be left in the photo.

Apparently you don't have to have facebook to submit questions to the chat

Of course, he did not post my question (I was not vulgar)

just a note if people are submitting picks to Hooded's thing for all teams, make sure there are an equal number of wins and losses or your picks will be impossible haha

The rebuilding Jets will miss the playoffs for the third straight year, and it will be curtains for Rex Ryan.
New general manager John Idzik gutted the roster, hoping to create salary-cap room for 2014. In the process, he forgot to import enough talent to compete in 2013.  Jets 6-10 ---- Rich Cimini

Then, of course, there’s the Bills’ perennial problem: the Patriots. If they can pull off at least one win against New England, they might have a shot. But it’s a lot to ask of a first-year coach and rookie quarterback. Predicting another 6-10 finish.  ---- Mike Rodak

the most screwed up thing about this article is that it says that the pats had hired former staties to remove the players from bad scenes like a weed spot in brockoton

- I don't want to kill the pats here on this but more the lawforce - this is also known as corruption as if it were you or me in this spot we'd get arrested - the fact these guys didn't get in trouble at all is mind boggling

I predict Miami will finish 8-8 this season. The Dolphins will be better. But a brutal schedule -- particularly early in the season -- will make it tough for Miami to gather enough momentum to get over the hump. ----JW

obviously if family and friends are saying he used angel dust - we know the nfl drug testing policy is shitty

I hope Tuel can handle the pressure of Matt Leinart looking over his shoulder.

@iycedout

You're giving a lot of credence to a publication that holds the view the Boston Marathon Bomber was the victim of a bad family setting

I was reading it earlier and knew some paragraphs had a familiar grudge against BB. Then I scrolled up and saw Borges on the byline. It has some decent info [like the part about NE's security] but most of it was well-known info, or just normal Borges ripping on BB.

@finfan5357 I know it's a Boston story but Mark Wahlberg is too short for this role.

@iycedout hernandez was not an elite talent, but he allowed the O to have a ton of different looks.
